About Us

about us

RoseGemShop was born from a lifelong love of stones, shaped by dirt-under-the-fingernails experience and a deep respect for where beautiful things come from.
I grew up in a rockhounding household, where weekends were spent digging through gravel bars and desert hills instead of sitting still. I cabbed my very first stone at just 10 years old, and not long after that I began learning the art of faceting—discovering how light, angles, and patience can transform rough rock into something extraordinary. That early exposure planted a seed that never stopped growing.
In 2015, my wife and I discovered Oregon Sunstone mining, and everything clicked. What started as curiosity quickly turned into passion. We fell in love with the rugged beauty of the Oregon Outback, the thrill of uncovering gemstones by hand, and the incredible range of colors hidden inside Oregon Sunstone—from soft peaches and champagnes to vivid greens, reds, and rare bi-colors. Before long, mining wasn’t just a hobby—it became a way of life.
Today, RoseGemShop is proudly miner-direct. Many of the gemstones we sell are stones we’ve personally dug from the ground, cut, and transformed into finished jewelry. When you shop with us, you’re not just buying a gemstone—you’re buying a piece of its story, from the claim to the cutter to the final setting.
We specialize in Oregon Sunstone and other Pacific Northwest gems, offering loose stones, custom jewelry, and one-of-a-kind designs made with care and intention. Every piece reflects our belief that jewelry should be personal, ethical, and built to last.
Whether you’re a collector, a fellow rockhound, or someone searching for a meaningful piece of jewelry, we’re honored to share our journey—and our stones—with you.
