Incredible golden champagne Oregon Sunstone 3.41ct

Who doesn't love Oregon Sunstone with copper schiller? This stone is absolutely loaded with streaks of coppery goodness. If you look at the close-up photos, you can see that the color comes from thousands of microscopic bits of copper that form parallel lines inside the stone. Sometimes, the stone is cut in such a way that the streaks are turned into an amazing constellation pattern. The "scissor"cut of this stone also helps with the light refraction, making it perfect for a ring or a pendant. This stone weighs 2.75ct and measures 11x7.5mm.

This Oregon Sunstone may be small at only .9ct and 7x5mm, but just look at this color! Beautiful AAA Red with a hint of dark green. The rough for this stone comes from the world famous Dust Devil mine in the Rabbit basin of Oregon's rugged Outback. There is an internal fracture you can see in the photos. It should not compromise the integrity of the stone, but I've discounted it significantly because of this. It's practically impossible to see this fracture without magnification. The Norse were known to have used calcite to be able to determine the location of the sun on overcast days, but this is different from the silicate feldspar we know as Sunstone today. While there are other feldspar materials known as Sunstone, Oregon Sunstone is the only one with the unique copper inclusions. This particular gem weighs 1.02ct and measures 6mm. It's cut into a cute cushion design that would work well in a ring or a small pendant.
