Private Eye Oregon Sunstone 7.46ct green/pink bi-color
This is one very interesting Oregon Sunstone that I'm sure will make an incredible custom pendant or ring.
The cut is called "Private Eye" and it's look could be used in many ways, from whimsical to foreboding.
The color is a very dark bi-color peach to red to green depending on the type of light. Seen here in LED lighting it's more peachy, but in natural light the red does really pop.
Oregon Sunstone is of course a very rare stone, only found in one remote area of Oregon's Outback, between Lake and Harney County. The stone is the result of a volcanic eruption some 15 million years ago. It was named the State gemstone in 1987.
In recent years, many designers have sought out this stone because of the variety of color, from champagne to peach to gold to brilliant red and deep forest green. Always all natural and never treated.
This stone weighs 7.46ct and measures 15.5x11.9x6.1mm. Price is $1865 wholesale. Retail price on an Oregon Sunstone of this color is going to be over $4000 and very likely to increase in value.
Hold it for an investment, or place it in a custom piece of jewelry. You can't go wrong.
Rare Pink Diaspore from Afghanistan. 2.17ct
Lovely and surprising pink diaspore from Afghanistan.
This relatively new gemstone is physically the same material as the Turkish diaspore, trade named Zultanite but look at this color! In low light it's a mauve or purple, but in bright sunlight is bright pink. This deposit was discovered in 2020 and appears to be very limited. Totally untreated with beautiful tube inclusions throughout.
This particular stone is beautifully cut and weighs 2.17ct and measures 10.6x5.6mm. This stone would be ideal in a ring or a pendant.

Oregon Sunstone is a unique and rare gemstone known for its captivating reddish color and remarkable optical phenomena. Oregon Sunstone is a type of feldspar mineral that belongs to the same family as moonstone and labradorite. However, what distinguishes Oregon Sunstone from other feldspar gemstones is its distinctive copper content, which imparts the stone's characteristic reddish, orange, or golden hues.
The "Red Green" variety of Oregon Sunstone refers specifically to stones that display a combination of red and green colors. These gems can exhibit a broad range of shades and color combinations, from deep red and vibrant green to softer, more pastel tones. This unique color play is often described as a mesmerizing interplay of warm and cool hues.
One of the most intriguing features of Oregon Sunstone is its ability to display a phenomenon called aventurescence. Aventurescence is the shimmering or sparkling effect that occurs when light interacts with tiny copper platelets or inclusions within the stone. When viewed from different angles, these platelets reflect light, creating a captivating play of color and luster.
This stone measures 10.5x7.9x5 9mm and weighs 3.33ct.

Spectacular Oregon Sunstone pendant in sterling silver
This Oregon Sunstone pendant features a bicolor mostly green with pink and champagne, concave cut stone. It weighs 7.8ct and would retail for over $700 for the stone alone.
The stone in this pendant is special, not only because of the rare green/pink bicolor aspect but also because of the special "concave cut."
Concave refers to the surface of the facet. Rather than being flat, the facet is curved in a concave direction. The cutting process is similar to traditional faceting except that rather than cutting on a flat disk, a smaller cylinder is used. This cuts the curved facet. These curved facets work like lenses and create a more dramatic difference in light and dark area''s in the stone, and give the illusion that there are a lot more facets than there really are. The most noticeable effects come from facets on the pavilion of the stone.
Oregon Sunstone is the official state gemstone, and it's so easy to see why. The colors are just amazing, and this one is no exception.
It's set in a pretty sterling silver setting with a nice 18" chain included.
