This Oregon Fire Opal is a "flatback" or "rosette" but this cut really makes the most of the stone.
It throws amber and gold opalescence with its "lens cut" and would look great in a design where you can see the pattern of the metal behind it bending as a result of this faceting design.

While most are familiar with Turkish diaspore, the green/brown variety of the gemstone sold under the trade name "Zultanite" few are aware of this new variety found in Afghanistan.
Pink diaspore is a rare and remarkable gemstone known for its captivating pink hues, ranging from soft blush to vibrant fuchsia. Stone weighs 5.6ct and measures 10.4x8.2mm and is 6mm deep. I've seen pink diaspore retailing for over $1000/ct, but my wholesale price is far less.
