Description
This exquisite 8.43 carat Oregon Sunstone was hand-mined directly by me from the famous Dust Devil Mine in Eastern Oregon. Measuring 14.4mm x 10.9mm, this large collector’s gem is a true showpiece of nature’s artistry.
Formed over 15 million years ago during a volcanic eruption, Oregon Sunstone is classified as a cuprian labradorite feldspar. It is the official state gemstone of Oregon and is found only in one remote region of the state. Don’t be fooled by “sunstone” from India—those stones are far more common and not true gemstone quality like this.
This particular piece displays the highly sought-after Mystique coloration, with striking green and peach tones that shift and play in the light. Tiny natural copper inclusions create a delicate schiller effect, giving the gem a subtle, shimmering glow.
A stone of this size, weight, and color quality would typically retail for $600+ per carat, making it an outstanding investment opportunity. At 8.43ct, this gem would be stunning set in a pendant or reserved as part of a serious collection.
By purchasing miner-direct, you save nearly half off traditional retail pricing while also ensuring you are acquiring a genuine, ethically sourced Oregon Sunstone.
